Evelyn B Foster, 92

Passed away peacefully Jan. 4, 2018 in S.L.C.

She was born Sept. 2, 1925 in Toquerville UT

to Archie Edmond and Mary Isabell (Stewart) Beatty/Batty.

She graduated from Hurricane High and Branch Agricultural College (BAC) in Cedar City.

After graduation she moved to Salt Lake City where she lived at the Beehive House that

was converted into a girls boarding house to safeguard young women working or

getting an education in the area, to care for their physical and spiritual well being.

She married her one true love, Keith Downing Foster in the L.D.S. St. George Temple on Sept. 28, 1946.

Our beloved Mom a cheerful optimist, was the most kind, charitable and sweetest example

to her family. She served others by accepting all church callings offered: Temple Worker, Relief Society President,

Jr Sunday School Coordinator, Young Women to name a few. Keith and Evelyn served an L.D.S. Mission in San Diego, at the Mormon Battalion Visitors Center.

Mom volunteered often to work the election polls and assignments at Welfare Square.

While her children were young, she took in ironing to make extra money for her family.

She also worked at ZCMI, art needlework department to help with the cost of

her son, Dennis's mission.

Mom was the constant nurturer by caring for and visiting family, friends and neighbors.

She always had a song in her heart and would be humming and toe tapping throughout the house.

She was most proud of her family.

"I have no greater joy than to know my children walk in truth." John 1:4

She is survived by her children:

Margene (Gary) Gorringe

Dennis (Miriam) Foster

Jolene (Bart) Bickmore
