Overland Park, KS - Evelyn Elizabeth Frolander, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Evelyn was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Born April 12th, 1930 in New London, CT to Leah (LaBrie) Hamilton and Thomas Hamilton, she was the youngest of six children. Evelyn grew up and attended school in New London, where she married Frank J. Perry on April 12th, 1947. Evelyn and Frank had three children before his early passing on August 1st, 1963 at age 41.



On June 25, 1970, she married Donald Frolander of Deep River, CT. They shared 43 years together, living in Deep River, CT and Warroad, MN before finally moving to Overland Park, KS. They were a happy and devoted couple, holding love of family above all else. Donald passed away October 27, 2013 at the age of 91.



Evelyn's legacy is her strength, love and kindness in every circumstance. She was deeply proud of her family, always celebrating their events and accomplishments with love. She truly had a "heart of gold." Throughout her entire life, everyone who knew Evelyn loved her. She was our "angel on earth."



Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters; Rose Farrell, Anna May Bouley, and Emma Osowski; and brothers, Robert and Thomas Hamilton. She also lost her beloved son, Anthony Perry, husband of Donna Garity, and grandson Joseph Garity. Evelyn was also preceded in death by step daughter Dale Breslin of Deep River, CT.



She is survived by her children; Frank T. Perry (Renee Vogt) of Waterford, CT, Kathleen A. Perry (Roger Zaremba) of Overland Park, KS, Arthur Perry of New London, CT and grandchildren; Renee Perry Rowe, Elizabeth Perry Zaremba, Eric Perry Zaremba, and Anthony Garity. She is also survived by her stepchildren; Carol Smith of Old Saybrook, CT, Linda Gahrmann (Ed Gahrmann) of Ivoryton, CT and grandchildren; Donna Smith Weeks, Gaye Smith Foreman, Tracy Smith Ambrosino, Daryl John Krajewski, Erica Gahrmann Nipper, and great grandchildren, Ray Steele, Noelle and Kelly King.


A gathering in celebration of Evelyn's life will be held at noon on Saturday, March 25th, at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, CT. The family suggests memorial donations in her honor be made to the American Lung Association or to the charity of your choice.
