Mrs. Evelyn Stringer Ingram, 87, of Richmond, VA, formerly of Charleston, quietly passed away while being attended by familiar staff members at the Sunrise of Bon Air Assisted Care Facility in Richmond, Virginia. Evelyn died from complications associated with advanced stage Alzheimer’s Disease.



Sarah Evelyn Stringer Ingram was born in Kenvir, Kentucky on May 12, 1928 and was the youngest of seven siblings. When she was a young child, the family moved to East Bank, WV where she lived for many years. When she married James “Jim” Richard Ingram, they moved to Charleston where they continued to live. Evelyn and “Jim” were both active members in the Democratic Party. Evelyn retired from the Public Service Commission after 40 years of dedicated service.



Evelyn is survived by her three children, Deborah Agunsday, Paulette Reisman and Kent Ingram, three grandchildren, James, Jessica and Ashleigh, one great granddaughter Ava and several nieces and nephews.



A service will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Bartlett-Burdette Cox Funeral Home in Charleston, West Virginia. The family will receive friends from 11 am until 1 pm with a funeral service at 1 pm. H.R. Whittington, celebrant, will be officiating. The burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memory Gardens in Glasgow, West Virginia.
