EVELYN VERONICA SPAH, age 94 returned to the loving arms of our Lord Monday, October 9, 2006.

She entered this world September 20, 1912 in Richmond Hill, New York. She was raised there with her parents, Henry and Nora Franke, and her three brothers and two sisters.

"Vera" had her own dancing school by the age of 15 and spent the next few years dancing in various New York stage productions where she met, fell in love, and married a young acrobat by the name of Joseph Spah ("Ben Dova"). As a loyal wife and mother, she turned in her dancing shoes and raised their four children in Douglaston, New York. Vera epitomized devotion to her husband, her children, her family and friends, and to the Blessed Mother. She began every day with the rosary, and offered to pray for any who needed it. Vera and Benny came to Manassas in 1985. Vera soon after became daughter Marilyn's "Assistant Coach" of the Montclair swim team; and after 21 years, the adopted grandmother to thousands. She touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of her company. She was never without a wink and a smile, or a dance in her step!

She is survived by her sister, Eleanor; children, Gilbert, Marilyn, Richard and Evelyn. Vera's legacy includes 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Pierce-Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 13, 2006 at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, Virginia with Rev. Robert C. Cilinski officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
