Dr. Evelyne Dall Miller, 76, of Old Saybrook, CT passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2017. Born in Falkirk, Scotland, to James Martin and May Crichton Miller, Evelyne graduated with a medical degree from the University of Glasgow in 1964. In 1972, she immigrated to the United States and continued her medical career, which spanned over fifty years. She retired as a general practitioner from Backus Hospital in Colchester, CT in 2016. Isaiah 41:13 "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." While working as a physician in Connecticut, she raised two children. Although she faced significant challenges in life, her unwavering faith in God, fierce determination, extraordinary ability to love, and her forgiving and selfless nature carried her through as she remained dedicated to a lifetime of caring for others. She gave of herself tirelessly right up until her last day on this earth, always putting everyone's concerns before her own and expecting nothing in return. Caring for her children, grandchildren, friends, patients and fellow congregants, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, doctor and member of the church. Evelyne was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Doctor John Martin Miller of Tyler, Texas. She was the loving mother of David Mark McCall and his wife Samantha of Glastonbury, CT, and Janice May McCall of Old Saybrook, CT, devoted grammy to Connor Philip McCall and Elizabeth May Lucas.
