Huffman, Everett Arlon, 89, a longtime resident of Lanham, MD, found peace on August 19, 2017 while surrounded by his family. Everett was born on August 7, 1928 in McComas, WV, and as a young man served his country as a U.S. Marine. He later earned his B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech, and upon graduation began working for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission in Hyattsville, MD. In his spare time Everett enjoyed working on cars, and tinkering with electronics. He retired in 1978 as a registered Professional Engineer and in his retirement, Everett enjoyed exploring the eastern shore with his wife Anne, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Dana as well as 4 siblings. Everett is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Anne K. Huffman, his five loving daughters, Dana Smith (Robert) of Glen Burnie, MD, Michele Hurt (John) of Ellicott City, MD, Tina Ridgley of Gaithersburg, MD, Lisa Huffman (Lisa) of Glenn Dale, MD, and Mary Booth of Mayo, MD, his brother Roy Huffman of Merritt Island, FL, his sister Joyce Cook (Giles) of Montgomery, AL, and his five grandchildren whom he adored, Anna Booth, Amelia Smith, Emma Smith, Bailey Hurt, and Cole Booth. The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to Ruth Baker Oliver, his devoted caregiver and friend, as well as her husband Walter Oliver.

The family invites friends to a visitation on Sunday, August 27, from 4-8PM and on Monday August 28, from 10 to 12:30 PM with services to begin at 12:30 in the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home in Bowie, MD. Interment to follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Ave. Davidsonville, MD.
