Everett "Dale" Sears, age 57, of Bloomington died Monday evening at I.U. Health; Methodist Hospice in Indianapolis from injuries received in a work accident. Born March 22, 1959 in Bedford, he was the son of Everett F. Sears and Judy (Sullivan) Sears Clowers. He graduated from Bloomington High School South, class of 1977 and was a member of the Eagles Lodge and AmVets. His passions were riding motorcycles, Jet Skiing and shooting firearms. He also had earned his pilot's license and loved to fly. He was a huge fan of sports, especially the Indianapolis Colts. He served our country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for four years.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Acklin) Sears, whom he married in April, 2015; his mother, Judy (Sullivan) Clowers, of Bloomington; his three sons, Michael Dale (Samantha Parsley) Sears, of Bloomington, Chris Cleek, of Bloomington and Nick (Heather) Rentschler, of Owensburg; two sisters, Patty (Brad) Sears-Biehl and Cathy Clowers, both of Bloomington; two brothers, Mike Sears and Clyde Clowers, both of Bloomington and seven grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, his first wife, Karen (Gill) Sears and one sister, Pamela Sears.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. with Pastor John Turpen officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg where the Monroe Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Brain Injury Association of America; PO Box 7416 Merrifield, VA 22116-7416.
