Exa Arabel Agnew was born March 17th, 1925 in Ranger, Texas. She passed into Jesus's loving arms the evening of Friday, March 24th, 2017. She was 92 years young. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Agnew; her parents, John Mark and Beulah Bethina Henry; and three sisters, Selma Rae Henry, Gene Wheeler, and Johnie Driggers.
She was a long-time resident of Crane, Texas where she invested in the most important thing in her life-her children. She was actively involved in all aspects of their upbringing, including being class mom, which entailed field trips, class parties, etc. There wasn't a football game of Jim's she missed.
She is survived by her children-son James Wallace "Jim" Agnew II and his wife, Terry of Kingwood, TX; son Mark Fane Agnew of Shawnee, OK; and daughter Tambrey Lynn Engles and her husband, Michael of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
Exa had many names-she was mom to many, not just her own. She was Sessie to her nieces, nephews, and many cousins. She was grandmother (not granny, not nana, not grandma) to her grandchildren and many of their friends. Finally, she was Grand Exa to her great grandchildren.
Exa liked to dance to big band music. She had an affinity for Tetris, Mario Brothers, and Mahjong video games. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved to spend time with her family and made a hobby of spectating at her grandkids' sporting events. She made new friends in even the most unusual or unlikely situations.
Her passing will be felt by many. Our loss is Heaven's gain, and we will see her again one day.
