Faber L. Hood, of Mesa, AZ, passed away, March 11, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born March 23, 1929 in Livermore, Iowa to Lloyd Henry and Martha Leone [Coleman] Hood. Faber graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and went on to start his career as a Pharmacist. During his career, he owned his own Pharmacy, Gift & Collectible stores in Iowa; although Pharmacy was his trade, he was also an entrepreneur of sorts, as he started flipping homes back in "74" which led to several properties that he flipped as a way to include his family working together each night after he closed the stores at the end of the day. He first retired in 1986 and moved to Arizona, and after a two year hiatus, he decided to go back to work at the Pharmacy in Williams Air Force base, until it closed. He then went back into retirement, which didn't last long, and soon found himself working at the campus Pharmacy of ASU, in Tempe, Arizona until his final retirement on May 20, 1994. Faber proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953, during the Korean War. He enjoyed golfing, dancing, fishing and spending time with his loving wife and family. He then decided in order to beat the summer heat, to build a home in Pinetop, Arizona. He was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Faber is survived by his loving wife, M. Colleen [Stumpf] Hood; the two were married in 1957 and over the next 59 years, they raised their family. He is also survived by his sons: Patrick C. Hood, Michael L. Hood and wife Kathy, and Timothy J. Hood, grandson's Parker Hood, Faber Hood and Preston Hood. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gene Hood of Algona, IA, Jerry Hood of Estherville, IA and Con Hood of Livermore, IA; sisters: Colleen Brennan of Emmetsburg, IA and Maxine Lichter of Omaha, NE.
