Funeral service for Faye Wofford Kilpatrick, 90, Gadsden, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Rev. Randy Gunter will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Kilpatrick was born September 19, 1926 in the Smith's Chapel community to George Addus Wofford and Emma Holland Wofford. She was a graduate of Sardis High School and was a resident of Gadsden for over seventy years.
Mrs. Kilpatrick was married to James Roy (Bud) Kilpatrick for sixty years before his death in 2006. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Ricky Ray, and Susan and Chip Tucker; grandchildren, Catherine Martin (Jeffrey), Lauren Newman (Jeff), Christian Tucker (Lindsey), Carey Tucker (Brittany), and Haley Tucker; great-grandchildren, Harrison and Emma Catherine Martin, Jacob and Wesley Newman, Maddie and Drew Tucker; sister-in-law, Frances Wofford; brother-in-law, Orell Kilpatrick; special cousin, Marguerite Addison; and several nieces and nephews.
Faye was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church for over fifty years where she sang in the choir and served in many other capacities. Second only to her love for the Lord was her love for her family. She ministered to many with her famous apple pies and pound cakes.
The family wishes to give special thanks to her loving caregivers: Jo Battles, Martha Reeves, Julie Gibbs, Vicki McLain, Jamie Griffin and Southern Care Hospice.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church or First Baptist Church, Gadsden.
