Flo Lipka, age 83, of Montague, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born November 20, 1933 in Muskegon, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (DeWitt) Brown. Flo was raised in Claybanks Township and moved to Montague upon her marriage to Jack Lipka on April 3, 1954. She was a cook at Montague Public Schools for twenty-three years until her retirement. Flo was a member of Montague United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Jack; her daughter, Denise (Rick) Briggs; grandchildren, Nick (Kari) Briggs, Dinah Briggs and Sam Briggs; great-grandchildren, Kayson and Jackson; and her siblings, Pat Ehlke, Barbara Caswell, Sally (Dave) Baker, George (Edythe) Brown, Nancy (Paul) Cooley, Joan (Dave) Lutchka, and Jim Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25th beginning at 10 am at Montague United Methodist Church, 8555 Cook Street in Montague. A memorial service will follow at 11 am also at the church with Pastor Gunnar Carlson officiating. Memorials to either Montague United Methodist Church's Green Team or the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund of Montague Public Schools are appreciated. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Montague at a later date. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home in Shelby. You may leave a message for the family at www.harrisfhome.com.
