Florence "Flo" Marie Sampey passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday evening, November 12, 2017. She was 86 years old. Loving mother of Amy S. Foret (Rodney) and Allison S. Romero (Myron). Grandmother of Holly Foret, Brandy F. Luke (Corey), Kristiana Romero (Mike), and Brent Romero. Great-grandmother of Max Luke, Kellen Romero, Serenity Romero, Kamden Richoux, and Demi Luke. Sister of Helen S. Champagne (the late Roy) and the late Virley S. Champagne (the late Gus), Leonard Sampey (the late Nellie), Neva S. Aucoin (the late Edward), Clarence Sampey (the late Belta), Lawrence Sampey (the late Marie), Warren Sampey (the late Elverta), Ethel S. Prince (the late Walter), Hartwood Sampey (Hilda), and Enice Sampey (the late Gertrude). Daughter of the late Leonard and Amy Walker Sampey. Godmother of Clarence "Dickie" Sampey Jr. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Flo was a native of Lockport and has been a resident of Westwego for over 65 years. She retired from Fasullo's Drugstore after over 26 years of dedicated service. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Flo devoted her life to caring and loving for her family, and always enjoyed good food, music, and dancing. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Flo's family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the caring team at St. Joseph Hospice who helped her through the past few weeks. Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of RPF Farms, LLC, the City of Westwego, Westwego Fire Department and the Ladies' Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Council #3091, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly #2053, Holy Guardian of Angels Women's Club, and Bridge City Gumbo Festival, are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR, 146 Fourth Street, Westwego, on Wednesday afternoon, November 15, 2017 at 1:00.
