Florence Priscilla Hisey Dickerson, wife of the late William Larry Dickerson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 28, 2017 Greenville, SC. She was born April 8, 1934 in Ottawa Canada to Rev. Lorne Hisey and Roma Lean Hisey. Her entire life was spent in God’s service as a musician. As a teenager she was active as a church musician playing in her father’s church as well as playing for the John R. Rice and the Hyman Appleman evangelistic meetings. She studied at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto and attended teachers college while in Canada. She attended college at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC where she received a Master of Arts in music. She went on to teach organ and piano at Bob Jones University, London Bible College and Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. She was a long-time elementary school teacher at The Charleston Christian School in Charleston. She was a member and pianist/organist of Church Creek Presbyterian in Charleston, SC from 1978 – 2005 and a member and organist at Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC. Her faith in Christ was evident throughout her life and until her last moments on earth.

She is survived by three children and their spouses: Kirk & Amy Dickerson, Andre & Julie Dickerson and Christa & Buster Williams. Granchildren: Gresham & Lucy Dickerson; Abigail, Nathaniel, Gabriel & Elizabeth Dickerson; Anastasia and Augustine Williams. She is also survived by a brother, Gordon & Carol Hisey Hillsborough, New Brunswick, Canada. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, William Levi Dickerson and her second mother, Winnifred Hisey.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Haven at Chanticleer for their loving care of our mother.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday July 1, 2017 at Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville. Visitation Will be held prior to service at 1 pm. Private burial will follow after the service.
