Florene Watson Clatterbuck, 91, of Charlottesville, went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2017, while at the Hospice of the Piedmont surrounded by family.



Florene retired after 26 years of service as an inspector/assembly worker with Sperry Marine. She was a member of the Charlottesville Church of the Brethren. She was a devoted wife & mother. Florene instilled a competitive drive and passion in her children to succeed and work hard in each endeavor. Her spunky spirit and drive for life was the foundation of her legacy.



She was born on September 17, 1925, in Louisa Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Clatterbuck, of 57 years; her parents Walter L. and Mamie S. Watson; her brother Earl Watson and sister Kathleen Speaks. Florene is survived by two sons Garland and Michael (Sheri); five grandchildren, Lisa, Lauren, Jesse, Sierra, and Lexi; and three great-grandchildren, Cierra, Atha, and Liam; her sister-in-law’s, Erma Horner, Nancy Thomas, Jean Clatterbuck, and Alma Watson; nieces, Gail Modzelewski, Susan Horner, and Kyra Muma, nephews; Ronald Clatterbuck, Bob Clatterbuck, Lee Pritchett, Virgil Speaks, Earl Watson Jr., Ronald Watson, Vernon Watson, and Terry Watson; as well as many lifelong friends including, Ginny Wiley, Penny Jarvis, and Phyllis M. Fagan.



Her family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Hospice of the Piedmont who provided her with loving and compassionate care in the last stage of her life. You are all God’s Angels!



A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Charlottesville Church of the Brethren with the Reverend Thomas Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Teague Funeral Home.
