Floyd Joseph Collins, Sr. 90, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away peacefully at his residence on November 22, 2016. Visitation will take place on November 28, 2016 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church from 9 am until service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 am with burial following in Cheramie Cemetery.

Mr. Floyd is survived by his daughter Emma Jane Collins LeBlanc, son Floyd Collins, Jr. and wife June, grandchildren Pauline Cheramie and husband Danny "Boggie", Tammy Finnie and husband Craig, Paul Curole, Jr. and wife Angela, Torri Curole, Tracey Bivens, Jared Collins and wife Alma, great grandchildren Ryan Sevin and companion Tristan Fonseca, Amie Serigny and husband Jace, Magen Richoux and husband Drake, Isabelle Dufrene, Tyler Bivens, Taylor Cheramie and husband Mathew, Emily and Olivia Collins, great great-grandchildren Jess and Owen Sevin, Bently Richoux, Adalynn Serigny, Fisher, Finn, and Reed Cheramie, sister Iona Lefort and husband Ellis, and family friend Dennis Fitch.

Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 Years Noamy (Mae Mae) Dantin Collins, second wife Ethel LeBlanc Collins, mother Ella Plaisance Collins Lombas, father Frank Amedee Collins, step-father Clovis (CoCo) Lombas, sister Aline Collins and son-in-law Richard P. LeBlanc.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was employed with Chevron Oil Company for over 25 years and owned and operated a trawling skiff, the "Captain Floyd".

He spent many years as an active member of the American Legion Post No.259, Knights of Columbus Council 9000, and Holy Name Society.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. For his years of faithful service and dedication to his church parish, he was honored with the prestigious Bishops Award in 1992.

He enjoyed cooking, carpentry/wood working, and gardening.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and loved spending time with his family. As a World War II Veteran he held a profound patriotism for his country throughout his lifetime. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. R.I.P., PaPa. You're forever in our hearts.
