Forest Glenn Hursey passed peacefully at age 82 on July 5, 2017. He was a husband, father, farmer, and friend. Born to Forest Bernard Hursey and Leberta Elizabeth Mullins Hursey on March 26, 1935, Glenn was raised on the family farm in New Albany, Ohio along with his surviving siblings Gale (Lynne) Hursey, Wayne (Jane) Hursey, and Kathleen (Mike) DeFazio. As a result of his childhood experiences, when Glenn became a graduate of the New Albany class of 1954 and an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army he purchased "The Farm" that would be his one and only adult homestead. Glenn spent countless hours tiling, cultivating, and baling the land which he worked so hard for. Glenn spent his 40 plus year career working for American Electric Power (Columbus and Southern Electric), starting out as a lineman and eventually retiring as a supervisor. On November 15, 1969 Glenn married Jacqueline (Jackie) Mae Ellis who survives him. Together they raised their two children Jennifer (Troy) Gantz and Forest Clinton (Nicole Jones). Glenn prided himself on quietly providing for his family while also instilling in them the importance of hard work and saving for a "rainy day". After Glenn retired from AEP he commonly spent time with the McDonald's morning coffee crew, biking the many bike paths around central Ohio with Jackie, or taking a load of hay to the Amish auction. He enjoyed watching the entertainment his five grandchildren, Andrew, Owen, Lauren, Madeleine, and Forest Leland Gantz, provided him. Most recently Glenn spent much of his time showing his family the commitment and love he had for Jackie by taking care of her through her illness. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Glenn's name to www.railstotrails.org or www.wosu.org
