Frances Ellen Hodapp (Weidie)
was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 13, 1922. She died surrounded by her family's love on July 29, 2017. Frances was born at a pound and a half and defied all odds in surviving. Not only did she survive, she was a spitfire. The Sisters of Charity raised Frances in Mobile, Alabama in a Catholic orphanage. She eventually moved to California where she met the love of her life, Donald Wendell Hodapp, at a church dance in Santa Monica. They were married at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on December 28, 1948. Frances was a devoted homemaker and mother to their two children Monica Marie and Michael Donald. In 1986 after Don retired, they moved up to Northern California to be closer to their growing family. Frances loved to laugh and tell stories. She was an excellent baker, enjoyed playing the marble game, could sew anything under the sun and loved her family dearly. Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald Hodapp. Frances is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Joe McConologue of Citrus Heights, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Deborah Hodapp of Roseville, CA; grand-daughter and husband, Kelly and Dale Paolucci of Granite Bay, CA; grand-daughter and boyfriend Megan Hodapp and Mikey Nguyen of Sacramento, CA; great grand-daughters Haley and Ashley Paolucci of Granite Bay, CA. Her parents Henry and Bertha Weidie, her grandmother Margaret Crenshaw, her sisters Marguerite Wolfe and Jeannette Wills and her brothers John Henry Weidie and Claude Weidie, also preceded Frances in death. We love you very much and you will be missed greatly by all. Thank you for being an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, friend and so much more. Your legacy will live on in each of us.
