Frances Niemcewicz a retired secretary for the National Bank of Florida and a lifelong resident of Florida, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in Elant, Goshen, NY. She was 92.
The daughter of the late Frank J. Fish & Mary G. Lempka Fish, she was born on August 21, 1924 in Florida, NY.
Frances was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church and a longtime member of St. Joseph Church Living Rosary Society, Florida, NY. She was a member of the Hudson Valley Polonaise Society and volunteered at St. Joseph Church Gift Shop and Arden Hill Hospital, Goshen. Further back, she worked as a secretary in the old Goshen Hospital.
She is survived by son, Raymond Niemcewicz & wife Barbara of Portage, Indiana; son, Gary Niemcewicz & wife Margaret of Venice, FL; daughter, Mary Jean McComb & husband Max of Florida, NY; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Wilkins & husband Patrick; Bryan Niemcewicz; Lauren Niemcewicz; Michael Rejmaniak and Kimberly Niemcewicz; 3 great grandchildren, Cooper, Andrew & Lily Wilkins; 2 sisters, Julia Sikorski and Eleanor Faliski; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond F. "Sonny" Niemcewicz; sister, Mary Nowak & brother, Frank Fish.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14th from 4-8PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. Rosary services will be held 5pm at the funeral home.
A funeral mass will be held 10AM on Saturday, October 15th at St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church Restoration Fund, 14 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Elant for their endless care and support they gave to their mom.
