Francis "Frank" L. Degenhardt, age 86, of Fairview Heights IL, born 8/21/30 in Hammond IN passed away on Feb 9, 2017.

Mr. Degenhardt served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and during the Korean War. Following his discharge his career was in the commercial/industrial construction industry as a Chief Draftsman followed by becoming a Chief Construction Cost Estimator and Project Manager.

Much of his retirement years were spent doing volunteer work for various food pantries in the St. Louis area and volunteering for Hospice of Southern Illinois in Belleville. He was an active member of the Korean War Veterans Association, IMJIN Chapter of Southern IL, and the American Legion of Belleville Post 2007, and a member of St. Teresa Parish, Belleville, Illinois.

Frank was preceded in death by wife, Annabel M. Musholt, whom he married on 8/27/55 in Quincy, IL and passed away 9/19/07; By his parents, Anthony and Estelle, and a daughter, Linda Marie. Surviving are his children, Anthony J. of Imperial MO, Frank R. of Bridgeton MO, Pamela A (James) Boehm of St. Charles MO, Joseph A. of St. Peters MO and James L of Imperial MO, eleven grandchildren, his sisters Gloria M. Miller of Swansea Il, Mary Lou Foran and Sr. Shirley Bell, P.H.J.C in Donaldson IN and the late Ruth Siebert of Boston, MA. Frank was a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. He was loved by many and will be terribly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern IL or to St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville Il.

Funeral services form Kriegshauser West Mortuary, 9450 Olive Blvd, Tuesday Feb 14 9:15 AM for Mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3129 Parkwood Lane (63043) at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Mike Boehm Officiating. Visitation Monday Feb 13, 6:00-8:00PM.

Interment Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.
