Francis LaPoint, 74 of Merrill, NY died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh.
Born on July 22, 1940 in Malone, NY, he was the son of Howard and Bernice (LaFlesh) LaPoint. They predeceased him.
He was married to Jacqueline Perry on March 17, 1962 in St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain by Father McCabe.
Francis was employed as a truck driver for the Town of Ellenburg. He retired in 2002 after 32 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years; four children and their spouses, Randy and Brenda LaPoint of Saranac, Scott and Leasha LaPoint of Merrill, Tracy and Gary Gardner of Merrill, Peter LaPoint of Peru, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Misty LaPoint Blondo, Heidi, Kellie, Jeff, Julie, and Lori-Marie LaPoint, Dustin and Austin Gardner, Christie LaPoint; a great-grandson, Sawyer Blondo; sisters, Jeannette Dubray, Sally Kline and Mary Rita Cayea, all of Lyon Mountain, Genevieve Mailloux and her husband, John of Brainardsville, Diane Shutts and her husband, Bruce of Merrill; brothers, William Lapoint and his wife, Judy of Connecticut, Albert LaPoint and his companion, Betty of Merrill, Thomas LaPoint and his wife, Peggy of Chazy Lake; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Collins; brothers, Howard Jr., Robert, Phillip and George LaPoint.
Calling hours will be held at St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain on Wednesday, July 22 from 3 to 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 23 in St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain.
