DIAMOND, Jr., Frank Berry, 68, of Safety Harbor, Florida, died Sunday, May 7, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, Dr. Diamond, a pediatric endocrinologist, served children and families in Pinellas County for almost four decades. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University, and completed a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He was a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida and a pediatric endocrinologist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Diamond was devoted to improving children’s health care in Pinellas County through his community service. He was a long time member of the Pinellas County Juvenile Welfare Board and served as the Board Chair. He was President of the Florida Diabetes Camp, where he volunteered as a camp physician. He traveled extensively in Latin America, undertaking medical research and caring for patients in Ecuador. Dr. Diamond was recognized there for his work by being appointed a Professor of Pediatric Endocrinology at the Universidad de San Francisco de Quito. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Fascell Diamond, son Ben Diamond (Christina), daughter Dr. Sarah Diamond (Steve Neiman) and grandchildren Frank Berry Diamond III and Jane Parker Neiman. He is also survived by his mother, Suzanne Diamond, brother Eric Diamond, and sister Thea Diamond.



Services will be held on Thursday, May 11 at 10:30 in the morning at Temple B’nai Israel, 1685 S. Belcher Rd, Clearwater, Florida followed by a private interment.
