Frank (Fortunato) Lirag Gonda was born on October 24, 1926, in Padre Garcia, Batangas, Philippines. He graduated from Jose Rizal College with a BS in Accounting. He spent 8-10 years, intermittently, in New York City doing textile import and export as the business executive officer for Manilex. He also served as Regional Director for National Cottage Development Authority (NACIDA), assigned to Mindoro and Palawan, after which he became the Liaison Officer for Consolidated Textile Mills and then later, the Human Resources Manager for Lirag Textile Mills.



In 1980, he and wife, Diday (Placida), emigrated to the United States, first residing in New Jersey and later relocating to Los Angeles, CA. While there, he worked and eventually retired from his position as the Night Auditor for the Westin Bonaventure Hotel.



For the past 15+ years, he was an active member of the Holy Family Parish Charismatic Group.



He is survived by his wife of 73 years. They have seven children - Romeo, Fortunato, Jr. (married to daughter-in-law Angelina), Danilo (married to daughter-in-law Norma), the late Armando (married to daughter-in-law Mila), Lourdes, Jocelyn and Cecilia (married to son-in-law Don). He also has nine grandchildren - Cheryl, Dan Jonathan, Christopher, David, Anna Lissa, Christine, Christian, Anna Mari and Keshia; 5 great-grandsons - Kelsoe, Holden, Dashel, Odin and Matteo; and grand-dog, Art.



Frank is also survived by his five sisters, Teresita, Nieves, Caridad, Morita and Carmelita; and two brothers, Zosimo and Rolando.
