Franklin John "Frank" Crews, 53, died Tuesday night (March 31, 2015) at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonvile FL following a brief illness. He was a native of Wayne County but had lived most of his life in Ware County. He was preceded in death by his step-father Jim Willis, a son Bradley Duran Crews, a sister Elizabeth "Beth" Lee, a brother Willie Benny "Bill" Crews, Jr., and his maternal grandparents George and Thelma Echols of Jesup. He was a former upholsterer with Darsey's Upholstery and had also done construction work during his life. He was baptized at Northside Baptist Church in Jesup. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and loved playing horseshoes. Survivors include a daughter Brandi Crews of Waycross, a son Shawn Franklin Crews (wife Christina) of Brunswick, a step-son Michael Ryan of Waycross, 8 grandchildren Ayden Crews, Aleeah Eason, Anslee Siironen, Phoenix Crews, Paisley Crews, Piper, Crews, Noah Hunter, and Jayden Ryan; his mother, Rebecca Willis Dickey (husband Bob) of Waycross, 4 sisters, Tammy Murray Harper (husband Dennis) of Jesup, Teresa Cameron (husband David) of Chesterfield MI, Vickie Renee Crews of Waycross, and Cynthia Kay Bowen (husband Ricky) of Blackshear; a brother Anthony Crews (wife Jodee) of Summerville SC, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Music Funeral Home, 1503 Tebeau St., Waycross, GA 31501 to help the family with funeral expenses. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday (April 4, 2015) at the Chapel of Music Funeral Home. Burial will be in Raulerson Cemetery of Pierce County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Music Funeral Home. Sympathy can be expressed by signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com. Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
