Fred Barton Perriella lost his two-year fight with lung cancer on September 14, 2017 at his home in Puyallup. Fred was born in Uniontown, PA. He spent most his youth in Port Angeles, WA. Fred was active in all sports especially wrestling. He graduated from Port Angeles High School. He then he went on to join the Army and served a tour in Korea. He went on to be an exceptional teacher in Alaska, Tacoma, Lagos, Nigeria, Puyallup and Lakewood. Most of his teaching career was working with students with special needs. Another passion of his was cooking-he went on to attend The Art Institute of Seattle. He was known for his pasta and fabulous desserts.

The outdoors was one of his favorite places to be fishing and camping. He was in awe of the eagles and hawks. When they graced the sky, he would stop what he was doing and watch them in flight.

He is preceded in death by his mother Harriett and father Barton. His three children survive him: Todd Perriella (Tammy), Bonnie Brooks (Keith) and Tony Perriella, and step-son Matthew Wilson. Grandchildren are Nick and Victoria and great grandchildren Emma and Bryson. He is also survived by his brothers Charles Perriella, Robert Perriella (Jackie) and his nephews David, Robert and niece Nicole.

Fred was married to the love of his life Mary Wilson for 22 years. During their time together, Fred and his wife were able to travel the world. Their travels included countries in Africa, Europe, also Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Alaska.

Celebration of his life will be held on September 25, at 1:00 PM at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup.
