Fred Hugel passed away peacefully on January 16. He was born on March 26, 1919, son of the late Charles and Ida Hugel.

Fred married Marguerite McLaughlin on September 26, 1943. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His nature was honorable, gentle, strong, patient, and humble. He was an active servant of his church and community. Some of his long-term involvements were as Boy Scout leader, as Assistant Captain of Boxborough's Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Boxborough Minutemen, council member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, dedicated volunteer with special needs children, and Master of the Tahattawan Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his cherished wife Marguerite, his daughter Susan deGrandpre, his son Jeffrey, daughter-in-law Kate, grandchildren Caitlin and Tucker Hugel, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
