G. C. TATUM, III COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA Mr. G.C. Tatum, III was born in Augusta, Georgia on October 26, 1942 to the late Grover Cleveland Tatum, Jr. and Lydia Roselle Johnson Tatum. He passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the LeGrand Healthcare and Rehab in Bastrop, Louisiana following an extended illness. G.C. grew up in Waynesboro, Mississippi where he graduated from Waynesboro High School before earning his B.S. degree in Animal Science from Louisiana Tech. Mr. Tatum began his career in Morehouse dairy farming before retiring as owner of Tatum's Crop Insurance Agency in Mer Rouge, Louisiana. G. C. was an outdoorsman and an avid turkey hunter. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tatum is preceded in death by his wife Mary Tatum. G. C. is survived by his wife, Sue Rainbolt Tatum; his two children, Michelle Dickens and her husband, Ross and Gregg Tatum and his wife, Madeline; two step-children, David B. Rainbolt and Amanda O'Neal and her husband, Stacy; and ten grandchildren, West Dickens, Anna Dickens, Will Dickens, Alex Tatum, Amelia Tatum, Gregg Tatum, Jr., Taylor Rainbolt, Dakota O'Neal, Levi O'Neal, and Emma O'Neal. He is also survived by his six siblings and their families, James "Jim" Tatum and his wife, Carolyn, Glen Tatum and his wife, Glenda, David Tatum and his wife, Ruth, Susan McMillon, Barbara Fleming and her husband, Benny, and Jeanne West and her husband, Gray; a host of extended family and numerous friends. A time of fellowship celebrating the life of G. C. Tatum will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop, Louisiana.
