Gary L. Garrand 64 of Alder Bend Rd, Altona passed away from a
courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on March 3, 2014
at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born to Alex and Rose (Nephew) Garrand on April 21, 1949.
He leaves behind family and friends who will feel the loss and emptiness
of his wonderful company. His home was always welcome to the many
friends and family that stopped by for a visit. His happiness was
spending time with his beautiful grandchildren that he was so proud of
and awaiting the arrival of another granddaughter due to arrive in June.
He was a man of many talents, building several homes, including his own
home with the love of his life Beverly and helping both his children with
the start of their first homes. He loved going to flea markets throughout
the states, garage sales, car races and watching wrestling. He also loved
vacations and going on cruises to the many different Carribean Islands.
He worked many years as a truck driver for Delagar Products in Rouses
Point, LaFave's Trucking & Excavating and most recently for Rob Hogan Excavating LLC.
retiring in June 2013 due to his illness.
He is survived by his wife Beverly (LaFave) Garrand whom he married
April 23, 1977. His son Jason and fiancee Jodie Wells, daughter Jennifer and
fiance Joseph Aubrey Jr. Grandchildren Dylan Monette, Mia Monette,
Jason Garrand, Landon Garrand, Step-Grandchildren Brooke Aubrey,
Brianna Aubrey, Jerzey Wells
Brothers Robert & (Joan) Garrand, Kenneth Garrand, Ronald Garrand,
Maurice & (Marie) Garrand. Sisters Clara Varin, Pat & (Donnie) Perkins
Audrey Dubray Brother-in law James Tatro. Mother & Father-in-Law
Bernard & Dorothy LaFave, Sister-in-law Wanda Surprenant, Brother-in-law Tony & (Kim) LaFave,
Sister-in-law Sandy Boulerice & companion Greg Caron, along with several nieces and nephews.
Predeased by his parents Alex & Rose (Nephew} Garrand
Sister Judy Tatro, Brothers Arthur, Leonard, Henry Garrand ,
Brother-in-laws Steven Surprenant, Theodore Varin,
Lyle Baillergeon, Melvin Dubray
Calling Hours will be at Ross Funeral Home 2586 Route 11 Mooers on Thursday March 6th from 4-7 pm.
