Gary R. Fannin, age 73, of Fairborn, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 9, 1944 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late George Fannin and Lillian E. Minor Fannin. Gary was a fun-loving, charismatic, joke-cracking, deal-making man with a love for his family that knew no bounds. He had a big heart and an endless sense of adventure. He never met a stranger and was a friend anyone would wish to have. On any given day, it would have been no surprise to catch him in his garden, at a fishing hole, making an impromptu garage sale stop, or in his recliner calling one of his countless buddies or loved ones. Gary was a man who will by no means be quickly forgotten. His love and kindness will radiate on through the lives of all those whom he has touched. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deborah Fannin; children, Gail Kelly of Las Vegas and Krista Dionne Fout (Richard) of Springfield; grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, Rick, and Levi (Kenya); great-grandson, Jaxson; and sister, Kathy Fannin of Jackson. Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Sheward Fannin; son, Wade Fannin; great-grandson, Kaden; his brothers, Bob, Dave, and Don Fannin; and sister, Betty McManaway. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Dowdy officiating. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
