Lt. Gary Scot Stowe, age 41, of Eastanollee, GA, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home.

Born June 17, 1976 he was the son of Gary and Mary Dooley Stowe. Scot, as he was known, will be remembered as a loving, generous, caring, hardworking, and beloved son, husband, father, and friend. He lived his life with honor, bravery, and integrity. He never knew an obstacle he wasn't willing to face or a challenge he would not meet with tenacy and perseverance. He served the City of Lavonia Police Department where he knew many brothers and sisters in blue over the last ten loyal years. He raised two fine young men and touched the lives of all who knew him. He is loved by many.

He is survived by his Mother and Father, Gary and Mary Dooley Stowe of Toccoa; his wife, Crystal Cheek Stowe of Eastanollee; two sons, Christian Tyler Churchwell of Ft. Stewart and Cory Dakota Churchwell of Eastanollee; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and too many friends to count.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Hazel Stowe and J. W. and Betty Dooley; and a special friend, Jason Barry.

Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Stewart, the Rev. Harris Pressley, and Chief Bruce Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow at Mullins Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Lavonia Police Department Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers and will provide full Honors.

Jones Harbert, Chad Hudson, Thumper Childers, Thax Bost, Matt Ellis, and Kenny Sims will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm Monday, February 12, 2018.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the charity of one's choice.

The family will be at the home of his parents.
