GAYLE ELIZABETH YANKEE April 1, 1951 ~ August 4, 2017 Gayle Yankee was born April 1, 1951. She passed away peacefully on August 4, 2017 from a rare cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma. Gayle was born in Vancouver, the daughter of Andrew and Mary Anderson. She graduated from Hudson Bay High School in 1969 and attended Clark Community College. She worked for the Vancouver School district for 30+ years, her last position was at Jason Lee Middle School. Gayle was the loving wife of Ron Yankee for nearly 28 years. She enjoyed gardening, camping, boating, trip to the beach and Lake Shasta. She played Bunko for many many years with dear friends, as well as playing pool with "The Blond Bombers." She was a kind and loving person ~ loved by everyone who knew her. She will be terribly missed. She is survived by her husband, Ron; sister Carrole Johnson; brother John Anderson; stepson Kenneth Yankee; grandson Kyle Yankee and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Fri., August 25, 2017 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to cancer research.
