Genevieve Truitt, 84, of Ohio County, IN, passed away at 8:12 AM, Thursday, August 10th, 2017 at Ross Manor, in Dillsboro, IN. Genevieve was born in Quercus Grove, IN on March 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Mary Gertrude (Galbreath) and Clayton Potter. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1951. Genevieve was the wife of Verle Truitt. Genevieve and Verle were married on December 24, 1951. They spent over 65 love filled years together. Genevieve was a devoted member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. She served as Sunday School Secretary for many years and was also a cook at the Whitewater Christian Service Camp. Genevieve went on a missionary trip to Granada were she shared her love of the Lord. Genevieve was also a 60 year member of the Rising Sun Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a past Worthy Matron, former Grand Representitive and District 5 Deputy Indiana Grand Chapter OES. Genevieve enjoyed making handbags, ornaments and many other crafts. She also loved to travel, go camping and riding the motorcycle with her husband Verle. Genevieve was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend and faithful Christian. She will be deeply missed.

Genevieve is survived by her caring husband Verle Truitt of Ohio County, IN; by two daughters, Verlene Sharp and husband Vernon, of Ohio County, IN; Bonnie Duckworth and husband Roy, of Florence, IN; by a son, Roger Truitt, of Rising Sun, IN; by eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; by a brother, Carroll Potter and wife Georgia, of Ohio County, IN and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a daughter, Lois Marie Truitt on November 13, 1955.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Monday, August 14th at the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. Friends are invited to call Sunday 5-8 PM at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Whitewater Christian Service Camp or Ohio County Rescue. Cards are available at funeral home. marklandfuneralhome.com
