A great, compassionate lady and phenomenal Italian cook, Gensie M. Bouffard, 84, of Cross Street, Keene, NH, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Cheshire Medical Center / Dartmouth Hitchcock, Keene.

Her proud parents, Aldopho R. and Immaculate (Piscitelli) Castagna, welcomed their daughter into the world on December 3, 1932 in Worcester, Massachusetts.

She took pride in caring for her home and family. Gensie was a caregiver later in life for other family members including her aunt, her cousin and her mother-in-law. She truly enjoyed being the host of many family parties, and creating many wonderful Italian dishes to curb their appetites. Her favorite pastime was the time spent creating wonderful memories with her family and friends.

Gensie will be missed by many, especially her three daughters, Lucinda "Cindy" Nolan of North Swanzey, NH, Gayle Kingsbury and her husband, Edward of Keene, Karen Hassanein of Keene; five grandchildren, Edward Kingsbury 3rd, Andrea Kingsbury, Bonnie Kingsbury and her partner, Seth Harlow, Sam Hassanein, Suzanne Hassanein; five great-grandchildren, three brothers, Albert Castagna of Shrewsbury, MA, Louis Castagna of Holden, MA, Anthony Castagna of Sterling, MA; three sisters, Rose Lucier of Milford, MA, Frances Perrone of Worcester, Rita Castagna of Holden; and many nieces and nephews. Gensie was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Robert Bouffard in 2002; three brothers, Luigi Castagna, Beato Castagna, Rudolph Castagna; and four sisters, Julia Pierce, Gloria McCauley, Jean Field, and Joan Castagna.

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 12:30PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. Burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Keene, will be private. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 11:00AM until 12:30PM at the Foley Funeral Home.
