George E. “Bug” “Raz” Means Jr., 86, of Charleston passed away February 3, 2017 at the Hospice House, South Charleston after a long illness.



George was preceded in death by his parents, George E. Means Sr. and Martha L. Hoffman; wife of 43 years, Rose Marie “Bonnie” McDerment Means; great-grandsons, Tyler Michael and Christopher Ryan Bays; brothers, James, Herman, and Michael Means; and a sister, Maxine Lanham.



Bug worked for McNeil Fence Company for 20 years and he retired from Local 301 Iron Workers. He especially loved spending time fishing, camping, and riding horses in Pocahontas County. George was a member of the Charleston Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren cooking in the backyard.



Left to cherish his memory are son, George Allen Means; daughters, JoAnn James, Vickie Bays, and Barbara Pence, Melissa Miller and Michael Irving all of Dunbar; grandsons, Roger Bays, Randy and Timmy McCormick, Robert Means, and Mark Allen Miller; great-grandchildren, Kayla Marie Bays, Brandon Cole Bays, Maci and Madison Carter, and Elijah McCormick; sister, Eva Lee Williams; and brother, Douglas Means; and host of nephews, nieces, great friends, and family.



Service will be 11am Monday, February 6, 2017 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV, 25313. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.



A gathering of family and friends will be 7-9pm Sunday, February 5 at the funeral home.



The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at CAMC General and Dr. William Jefferies at St. Francis, and the HospiceCare Nurses at Thomas Hospital.
