George E. "Gene" Richard, 72, of Valrico, FL, passed away November 27, 2019 following a lengthy illness. Gene was born in Mayfield, Ky, the son of George and Mavella (Allen) Richard. He married Ruby A. Jarman on September 16, 1992 in Waterloo, Ia. He retired from Oneal Steel in 2012 after 30 years of service. He is mourned by his loving wife, Ruby; two sons, Todd (Sharon) Richard, of Chandler, AZ and Mark (Jodi) Richard, of Plymouth, MN; two stepsons, Todd and Jace Kane of Valrico, FL; one stepdaughter Dawn (Steve) Rascher, of Riverdale, IA; four grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) Richard, IA, Danny Richard, IA, and Zachary & Max Richard of MN; two step-grandchildren, Tayler (Alex) Boer, FL, and Payten Rascher of IA. Four great-grandchildren Reagan, Edward, Riley and Logan Richard of IA; one step-great grandchild, Decker Boer of FL; a brother, Rick (Deb) Richard of IL; two sisters Pam (Dan) Whipple of IL and Kim (Kevin) Newburgh of IL and aunt Mabel Ray of Murray, KY. He was preceded in death by his father George E. Richard; his mother, Mavella Richard; brother Terry Richard and sister, Neva Zentz. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dawn Rascher of UnityPoint at Home Hospice, Davenport, Iowa for her invaluable care. Services will be private.
