Jorge (George) Manuel Custodio, age 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was born on April 4th, 1960 in Porto de Mos, Portugal to John and Noemia Custodio, later moving to Fairhaven, MA where he graduated high school and went on to graduate from Providence College. He married his high school sweetheart, Jo-Ann DeSouza ,on July 20th, 1985. George and Jo-Ann resided in Dartmouth for 28 years. He worked in banking most recently as the Chief Financial Officer at First Citizens' Federal Credit Union for the past nine years. George's largest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends.

He was a man that is indescribable, a truly selfless person with the unique ability to influence people in a deep, positive way. He will always be remembered for his famously corny jokes, his inability to sit still and his infectious personality that could light up any room. He was very active in the community where some of his fondest memories included coaching youth soccer, basketball and baseball. His hobbies included golfing in his Bush-Whacking league, bowling with his Pin-Heads, kayaking and carpentry. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Jo-Ann; son, Jonathan and his wife Yevgeniya and his granddaughter Mariya of Barnstable; daughter, Jenna of Dartmouth; parents, John and Noemia of Fairhaven; brother, David and his wife Kristin and their daughter Stella of East Lyme, CT; late sister, Ana Maria; many other nieces, nephews and cousins; and friends he considered family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to the Heart Center at Boston's Children's Hospital, in memory of George Custodio, to honor his late sister Ana. Contributions can be made online at www.childrenshospital.org/tribute or checks made payable to Boston Children's Hospital referencing George Custodio, can be mailed to Children's Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
