O'Brien, George Noble 88, passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family on March 19, 2017. He enlisted with the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division where he served valiantly during the occupation of Japan. George completed 26 jumps, although they "scared the hell" out of him every time. He fearlessly completed his 27th jump 70 years later at the age of 88. George was an accomplished amateur artist and, though colorblind, worked with his wife to create gifts his family will always treasure. George loved playing Pinochle with his lifelong group of friends and drinking coffee at McDonalds. He is survived by his daughters, Colleen (Greg), Maureen (Dave) and Kathleen (Donny); his sons, Kevin (Andi), Timothy (Dolores) and Sean (Beth); his twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and his sister Dorothy. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean. A viewing will take place at the Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Rd in Clinton Township on Wednesday, March 22. The viewing will be open to the public from 2 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ephrem's at 38900 Dodge Park Road in Sterling Heights on Thursday, March 23 at 10 a.m. The burial will take place at a later date at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. Donations may be sent in George's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please share a memory with the family at www.resurrectionfuneralhome.com
