George was born on March 23, 1930 and passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017.

George was a resident of Pineville, Louisiana at the time of passing.

George played football, tennis, basketball and baseball for, and graduated from, Bolton High School in 1948.

Visitation will be at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and continued Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Services for George O. Pharis will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers in Pineville with Reverend Wayne Headrick officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville with Military Honors.
