George was born on May 19, 1922 and passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017.

George was a resident of Brooksville, Florida at the time of passing.

He was a graduate of Sligo High School and was a veteran of World War II serving in England Germany and France in the US Army Air Corps.

He was a member of the Oil City Masonic Lodge, Zem Zem Shrine and Grotto where he also played bagpipes. The memorial service will be Saturday, June 24th at 3:00 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the Rev. Darrell Greenawalt, Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006. Interment will be in Squirrel Hill Cemetery, New Bethlehem, PA The family suggest memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
