George Randolph Casey, age 81, of Naples, Florida, went to be with his Lord, on Sunday, March 29, 2015. George was at home surrounded by his loving family. He was much loved by family and friends and will be sorely missed.
George was born in Tunnel Hill, Illinois, on November 4, 1933. His parents were Richard Randolph Casey and Edith Burton. He married Jerry Horning in 1956.
He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1954. He received two degrees from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary-- one in 1957, the other in 1962. George served 18 years as minister of education in Baptist churches in Oregon, California, Kentucky, and Florida. For 30 years he was a fund-raising consultant for non-profits (churches, schools, community organizations, etc.). He helped raise over 60 million dollars.
George lived in Worthington, Ohio for 34 years where he was a member of Worthington Baptist Church, and, as an outstanding photographer, was active in Westbridge Camera Club. He moved to Naples, Florida in June of 2014 and joined North Naples Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by sister, Edith Marie Wilkerson (Dennis), brother, Terry, and nephew, Kent.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jerry, sons Richard (Vicki) and David; brothers, Jim, Wil (Catherine), John; sisters, Liz Leber, Mary Davis, and 8 nephews, 6 nieces, 2 great nephews, 4 great nieces, and 2 great, great nieces.
George lived a life dedicated to the service of others through his work and through his church. He was a good man who loved the Lord.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., at North Naples Baptist Church, 1811 Oakes Boulevard, Naples, Florida 34119. Friends can visit with the family at 6:00 p.m. There will be a time of food and fellowship following the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial gifts to North Naples Baptist Church.
