George William Koser, 74, of Fairfax Station, VA passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Charlottesville, VA, while with his two sons.

Born on January 28, 1942 in Waldenburg, Germany, George was the eldest son of the late Wilhelm (William) Koser and Gertrud Hoffmann. George was an aerospace engineer until his retirement in 2012. He supported the US Department of Defense and NASA during his career, working on projects related to missiles, Naval ships, and the Apollo space program. In his free time, George enjoyed scuba diving at various ship wrecks and coral reefs around the world. He married the love of his life, the late Geraldine Ward, in 1978 and had two sons, Brandon (1984) and Kevin (1986). George dedicated his life to supporting his family, teaching the boys how to be gentlemen, and ensuring Geraldine was cared for and supported during her own fight with breast cancer. Family meant everything to him. He was a kind, gentle, and loving father and husband, even during his own fight with dementia. George and Geraldine are now reunited together in peace with God.

George is survived by his eldest son, Brandon, his girlfriend Lanie and stepson Daniel of Indianapolis, IN; youngest son, Kevin, his wife, Rachel, and their son, Kannon, of Crozet, VA; his sister, Bridget, of Chicopee, MA; and his brother, John, of Conway, MA. He is predeceased by his wife, Geraldine, and sister, Angela.
