George was born on March 18, 1925 and passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017.

George was a resident of Wilmington, North Carolina at the time of passing.

He attended schools in New Hanover County, graduating from New Hanover High School in 1943.

He served in the US Army from 1944 to 1946, in World War II in the European Theater 63rd Infantry Division, 7th Army Headquarters and office of military government in Berlin, Germany.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017, 6-8 pm at Andrews Valley Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at United Advent Christian Church, 4912 S. College Road, at 2 pm, with Rev. Sam Worley and Rev. Adrian Shepard officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or United Advent Christian Church.
