Georgette M. Pinney, 85, of Ivy Drive, Keene, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2017, at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, following a brief illness.

She was born on July 25th, 1931 in East Jaffrey, NH, the daughter of Arthur J. and Estelle M. (Thibault) Varville. She was a graduate of Conant High School and the Butler School of Aviation.

Georgette was a member of the Dublin Congregational Church and sang alto in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Dublin Woman's Club when she lived in Dublin. In her professional career, she was among the first employees of Yankee Magazine in Dublin and, in that capacity, was a prototype of the work from home employee. She would type business letters during the days and evenings while bringing up 4 children, growing an acre of vegetables and preserving them to feed the family throughout the year. She was an accomplished seamstress.

She also held several positions at NH Ball Bearing, worked for the Goodnow, Arwe & Ayer law firm in Keene, Gates Incorporated in Peterborough and Attorney Catherine Sage of Peterborough. In 1970, she joined the Dunkin' Donuts team, opening the first store in Keene, NH. She graduated from Dunkin Donuts University in Quincy, Massachusetts and was the manager on West Street for 12 years.

Pursuing her creative gifts and mechanical talents, she started Engrave-It in Keene, engraving gifts, plaques and industrial parts through the early-2000s. She was the first woman president of the Keene chapter of the International Management Council, jointly sponsored by the Keene Family YMCA and the Cheshire County YMCA.

In her retirement, she loved singing as a member of the Senior Swingers, a singing group with the Keene Senior Center. She enjoyed the company of her family, her dear friend of 80 years, Cynthia Eaves Hamilton, and the many acquaintances she made over the years through her professional endeavors.

Georgette is survived by her sons, daughter and daughters-in-law Dana and Cheryl Pinney of Fitzwilliam, Deanna Jantzen of Boston, Adrian and Norma Jeanne Pinney of Swanzey, and Allan "Jeff" and Beth Pinney of Dublin. Also her ten grandchildren, CJ Sullivan of Peterborough; Meredith Ducommun of Mesa, Arizona; Krystal Smith of Elkins, NH; David Jantzen of Wendell, North Carolina; and H.
