Georgiana, E. Moreno, 59, of Fort Wayne, passed away on December 15, 2017. Born on July 3, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, she was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. Georgiana "Gigi" graduated nursing school in 1981 and spent her life taking care of others. She was a talented dancer and used her passion to inspire others through teaching dance. She was inducted into the Fort Wayne School of Dance Hall of Fame in 2017. Gigi and her husband, John, loved each other deeply and together they lived life to the full extent of happiness. She was the love of John's life and while he will miss her forever, her light will always be a beacon guiding him through life. When John and Gigi chose each other, his kids became hers, hers became his and from day one their blended family became one unbreakable unit. Gigi fought a long hard battle with cancer, but she was not defeated. She did not lose her battle, she conquered cancer. She won by not allowing an awful disease to dictate her path, dampen her boisterous laugh, or rob her of joy. She was remarkably quick witted and her radiant personality will be missed by everyone whose soul she touched.
She is survived by her husband, of 29 years, Johnnie Moreno; mother, Ruby B. Klausing; children, Antonio (Olga) Moreno, Hilary (Ross) List, Andrew (Kristy) Moreno, Benjamin (Jessica Petrie) Rocke, Tiffany (Ryan) Folkers, and Elena (Colin) Roeth; grandchildren, Cody, Caleb, Camyron, Mia, and Sydney; and siblings, Charles McKaig, Edward McKaig, and Kristin Klausing. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward McKaig, and stepfather, Herbert Klausing.
Funeral service will be 11am, Thursday, December 21, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Wednesday, December 20, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana
