Gerald Edwin "Bulky" Terry, age 76, of Atlanta, IN died December 13, 2017 at I.U. North Hospital at Indianapolis, IN.

He was born March 13, 1941 at Ladoga, IN to Calvin and Catherine Elizabeth (Ley) Terry.

He was a graduate of Tipton High School with the Class of 1959. From his youth to just recently, he had mostly worked in farm related jobs. Lastly, and for over thirty years he had worked at Tipton County Farm Bureau Co-op. Bulky, as he was fondly known was well liked and respected in his line of work, always ready to assist others who needed his help or advice.

Being a music lover, with the help of family, friends and "back porch gatherings" he became adept at playing the jazz banjo. As a result he and his wife, Roberta purchased a vintage building in downtown Atlanta, IN and started the Atlanta Music Hall. Other musicians joined them and every Saturday night they would play jazz, dixieland, and big band music. With their casual, friendly atmosphere they attracted large crowds for their performances.

Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Roberta (Waltz) Terry, sons: James (Dawn) Terry of Atlanta, IN, Ronald Terry of Orange County, CA, and William Terry of Noblesville, IN, brother: Thomas (Patty) Terry of Tipton, IN,sister Rosemary Robinson of Atlanta, IN, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Frank Terry.

A celebration of life will be held January 14, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Atlanta Community Building in Atlanta, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, 1721 Pleasant Street, Suite B, Noblesville, IN 46060-3621.
