Gerald Patric Lillard was born July 12th 1950 with his twin brother George in All Saints Hospital, Fort Worth Texas to George & Evora Griffin Lillard. He graduated from Arlington High School, Arlington, TX in 1968. He then graduated from University of Texas at Arlington in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology - the study of rocks being his early child hood obsession.

The 70's oil crisis in full bloom, Gerald soon joined Mobil Oil Company as a Geophysicist. During his tenure there and other exploration companies he was responsible for discoveries for which he received royalties until his passing. From midlife he struggled mightily with health complications which eventually took his life January 20th, 2017.

Gerald is survived by his daughter Christina Dawn Lillard Tapia, his grandchildren Luis Edwin Rodriguez, Emmali Ann Rodriguez, Julianna Priscilla Aguero, Sergio Rafael Aguero; Brothers George, wife Jeannette and David Lillard, wife Rita, Sisters Eve Paris, and Sylvia Crowson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Carrie Suzanne Lillard.

Family and friends gathered during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25th, at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, 77055.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th in the chapel of Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Home, 7301 E. Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth, Texas, 76112. (817) 451-3333. Following the interment in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, a reception was held at the Candlelite Inn Restaurant, 1202 E. Division St. in Arlington, Texas.
