Geraldine Wildey passed away peacefully November 15th 2017 at the age of 91. Born June 8th 1926 to Aloysius Joly and Daisy Ratert-Joly in Liberty Texas, Geraldine was a life-long resident of Marrero Louisiana who loved cats, enjoyed working in her garden, fishing, and was known for her incredible fish frying skills as well as her delicious cornbread dressing. A doting grandmother who adored her grandchildren, Geraldine impacted the lives of many throughout her long life, and leaves many friends and family to cherish her memory. Survived by her children; Barbara Messmer (Jonny) and Forrest B. "Pete" Chessher Jr. (Nancy). Stepchildren; Sarah Susie Wildey Jeandron (the late Charles J. Jeandron Sr.), Carrie Wildey Hebert, and Thomas J. Wildey Jr. (Christy). Predeceased by one daughter, Joanne Wildey Montalbano (the late George F. Montalbano Sr.). Grandchildren; Derk Maise (Bonny), Tadd Maise, Forrest B. "Pete" Chessher III (Kristy), Michael P. Chessher (Lori), Brett J. Chessher (Heather), Charles Chuck J. Chessher, Farren Chessher, Callie Chessher, Brielle Chessher, Charles Chase Jeandron III, Eric John Paul Adams III, Danielle E. Adams, Grace Jeandron, Grant Jeandron, Michael John Nacarri III, Elena E. Nacarri, Hal Edward Giangrosso, Read Bolton, Raegan Bolton, Olivia Bolton, Marley Rae Wildey, Will Bradley, David Illg (Amber), Shae Cheramie, Hannah Cheramie, Madison Hebert, Alexandra Hebert, Ethan Young and Dillan Young. Also survived by nine great great grandchildren; Avery Adams, Eric John Paul Tripp Adams, Mabel Campo, Brantley Shifflett, Drake M. Illg, Kennedy L. Illg, Jayleigh K. Hatford, Paisley Martin, and Finnley Martin. The family of Geraldine Wildey would like to extend a special thank you to Notre Dame Hospice, and to all the staff at Wynhoven Living Center for taking such excellent care of Geraldine during the last few years. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to attend a visitation for Geraldine at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home located at 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana on November 20th, 2017. Visitation for family will begin at 10:00am, and 11:00am for the public. Mass is to follow at 2:00pm, officiated by Father Nick Perricone. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Foundation.
