Dr. Geri (Revitte) Brown of Colleyville, TX, age 61, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 due to injuries from an automobile accident in Dallas, TX.

Beloved wife of 34 years to Gordon Brown and loving mother to Grant Brown, she is survived by her mother Elizabeth Revitte of Kansas City, sisters Hanna Cusick (Mike) of Kansas City, Marian Revitte of Albuquerque, and brother Frank Revitte (Therese) of Mandeville, LA. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Revitte.

Geri was born January 30th, 1956 to Francis and Elizabeth Revitte (Sorrell) and raised in Dodge City, KS. After graduating at the top of her class from Dodge City Senior High School, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Washburn University, and did graduate studies at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland in economics. After working for several years in the Dallas - Fort Worth area, where she met her husband Gordon, Geri became interested in the field of medicine and changed career paths, earning a Medical Degree from University of Texas - Southwestern Medical Center, then completing her residency and three years of postdoctoral training in gastroenterology/hepatology at UT-Southwestern. During her 30 year career in medicine, she worked for UT Southwestern as a faculty member where she taught and mentored GI Fellows and junior faculty, and worked at the Dallas VA Hospital, where she spearheaded efforts to help veterans with hepatitis C. At the time of her death, Geri was Acting Section Chief of Gastroenterology at Dallas VA Hospital, and a professor at UT-Southwestern Medical School.

During her spare time Geri enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Disney World, Scotland, and Spain were some of their recent family experiences.
