GERRY RAINBOLT RAY COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA Funeral services for Ms. Gerry Rainbolt Ray will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Waymon Swain officiating. Committal services and burial will follow at the Carter Cemetery near Collinston, Louisiana under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon until time for services on Wednesday, April 18th, at the funeral home. Geraldine "Gerry" Ray was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on November 14, 1939 to the late Olan Rainbolt and Eva Baskin Rainbolt. She passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on April 13, 2018 at the Seasons Hospice in Dallas, Texas. Gerry was a faithful member of the Central Church of Christ. She was a retired RN with the State of Louisiana Public Health Department and served in both the Morehouse and Ouachita Parish Health Units. Gerry was above all a devoted mother and beloved grandmother and sister. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a son, James Kevin Brown; an infant son, Charles Keith Ray; and brother, Harvey Rainbolt. Gerry is survived by her son, Charles Heath Ray and his wife, Miche; four grandchildren, Chelsea Ray, Katrina Lynn Brown Gosvenor, Michael Greenlee, and Tristan Greenlee; a sister, Libby Butler and husband Ronnie; and sister-in-law, Myra Rainbolt. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Michaela Moore, Hayden Moore, Kaylee Moore, Dalton Gosvenor, Kierston Gosvenor, Emily Gosvenor; great-grandchild, Xander Moya; three nieces Lissa Dumus, Tiffany Courtney, and Sheila Killion; two nephews, Dennis Courtney and Harvey Rainbolt, Jr. and a host of extended family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. For those who wish to make memorials, the family suggest that memorials be made in Gerry's name to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 4196, Monroe, Louisiana 71211 or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
