Dr. Steg was born on July 6, 1925 and passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Dr. Steg was a resident of Fairview, Pennsylvania at the time of passing.

Gilbert graduated from East High School in 1943 and subsequently entered the U.S. Army Air Force where he served in World War II throughout the Pacific and China/Burma/India theaters in various capacities, including six months as a combat medic in the Philippines.

A funeral Mass will be held at that location on Friday at 10 a.m. Entombment in the Holy Family Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38 th St. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to VNA Hospice, 2253 W. Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16506 or to Holy Cross Church, 7100 W. Ridge Rd., Fairview, PA 16415.
