Giselda (GeeGee) Mangiaracina, nee Funari, died at her home in Livingston on May 15, 2016 with her loving husband Louis by her side.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, May 18th from 4:00-8:00 pm at the La Monica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on May 19th at 10am, in St. Raphael R.C. Church, Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, New Jersey. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey.

Giselda was born on June 4, 1928 in Arquata, Italy, the youngest daughter of Americo and Concetta Funari. She came to the United States when she was 5 and grew up in Newark, NJ before moving to Livingston in 1959.

Giselda is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Louis V. Mangiaracina, her children Concetta (Darrell) Mangiaricina-Buckner, George (Michele) Mangiaracina, Angela (Peter) Castagna and Louis (Marianne) Mangiaracina, her grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin Buckner, Louis (Dayna), George and Kaela Mangiaracina, Noelle, Cara and Kristen Castagna, Arielle, Michael and Leah Mangiaracina and one great-grandchild Jayden. Giselda was pre-deceased by her parents and her sisters, Giale Ardito, Igea Uzzolino and Delma Tonzola.

Giselda was a kind and caring woman, who gave selflessly and encouraged her family to always see the good in all people. She was the gold standard in spouse, motherhood, and friendship and will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Her family will always strive to be the people she expected them to be: kind and loving.

A homemaker, Giselda was a talented seamstress, a craft at which she worked for many years throughout her life. She was an active member of the St. Raphael Rosary Society and PTA. She traveled extensively with her husband, family and friends, yet her happiest moments were those spent with her family in the home she carefully created and loved. She was and will continue to be an inspiration, and the person her family will always aspire to emulate. We will miss you GeeGee, thank you for being ours and we count ourselves as blessed for having you as our wife, mother and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Giselda's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
